Guthrie’s
Let’s start with a southern favorite – fried chicken. And when we talk about fried chicken in Auburn, Guthrie’s is the top choice. This local spot started right here in Auburn. Their chicken fingers? Super tasty. Crispy outside, soft inside, and seasoned just right. And that special sauce they have? Trust me, you’ll want to try it. You have to visit this place! The feel is relaxed and friendly, making it a great spot for those who love comfort food.
Irritable Bao
This is my top lunch spot in Auburn. With a name like Irritable Bao, some might be unsure, but trust me, this place is almost always has a line out the door! They’re known for their real-deal Bao and their amazing owners. I can’t get enough of this place!
Ariccia Cucina
The best spot for Italian food in Auburn, in my opinion. Their flatbreads are a must-try. It’s also the perfect place to eat before any Auburn University event since it’s in the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center.
Acre
A big hit with the locals! They serve farm-to-table dishes, and I love having lunch here. Their grilled cheese and tomato soup is the best, especially in the colder months. Plus, the owner and main chef won IRON CHEF. So, Auburn is home to some top-notch food talent!
1856
The newest spot in town, located in the Auburn Culinary Center. It’s the first of its kind in the country – a tasting-menu-only teaching restaurant. It’s where learning meets fancy dining. And their wine list? One of the best around.
Pho Lee
Craving some authentic Vietnamese food? This is the place. Pho Lee always serves great food, and it’s one of my favorite spots in Auburn. Pho Lee is a local and family owned restaurant that’s located in a strip mall. The food? It’s some of the best. From the tasty pho to the well-cooked noodles, every dish is a food wonder. The service is fast and helpful, and the place feels calm, making it a good spot for a simple lunch or dinner.
Botanic
Located between Opelika and Auburn, Botanic is a great place to relax. Think about this: a calm place, a spot for wine, a spot for whiskey… it has everything. It’s really cool and one of my favorite places to chill. Whether you like wine or whiskey, Botanic has choices for everyone. The food goes well with the drinks, with a range of tasty dishes that are sure to please.
The Hound
Oh, The Hound. If you want the best burgers in town, go here. And their homemade bacon? So good. It’s in the middle of Auburn, and you can’t go wrong with The Hound. The old-style look and fun feel make it a hit with both locals and visitors. Whether you’re looking to mix things up or hanging out with friends, The Hound promises a fun time.
The Depot
Last but not least, if you like seafood, The Depot is for you. Fresh fish, special dinners now and then, and a super cool bar. Plus, it’s in an old train building, which makes it special. If you like seafood, you have to visit.
